Evening people!

I have the 1.1m dish, it is pointing in the right direction.

I have the Xtra Digital-XD 300 decoder.

The problem my installer has is that the set top box doesn't automatically locate the package, (specsifically Orbit ESPN), he can find the signal, but can't get the signal to the box. The box keeps going to another package.

Help please!?

Yours

James S Welling

Is this an official Orbit box??

Which channels are you actually getting, and which satellite do you think you are pointing at?

I think it is Arabsat 26 degrees East.

Not any channels, the signal is there on his meter, but the box isn't picking it up. The scanner keeps picking up Hotbird instead!!!

I have been told it is the only box! Indeed it has the Orbit logo on it.

I have seen that box being used in a shop in Lodon.

If you are getting Hotbird then your dish is pointing at 13E instead of 26E. Get the installer back and kick him up the backside until he gets it right!

Remember - "nearly" isnt good enough for satellite reception - the dish needs to be pointing within a degree of the satellite - and bigger dishes need to be aligned more accurately.

Arabsat can be tricky, I always have problems with it as it is very close to 28 east. But if you are scanning and you are getting hotbird channels, then it is pointed wrong...

I have been told that it should be on Eurobird 2. 28.3 Degrees East.

The Sky dish is pointing ahead, and he has put the dish on the right hand side wall.

I think I said Arabsat first.

Eurobird 1 is at 28.5 degrees East, Eurobird 2 is at 26 degrees East and I think that you may struggle with the horizontal transponders with a 1.1m dish.
