Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Interesting that the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has stated the above, quoting an existing piece of US Legislation - the EU & UK situation is not the same but is also outlined

They are put on equipment to keep the Dingbats (oh I can fix anything types) from poking their fingers into something that they shouldn't.....Like something with a switching power supply, we use to put them on everything we shipped out that could be FUBARD by someone that didn't know what the heck they were doing.

The first instuctions in the users manual stated that they should call the factory for authorization to open the unit if there was a problem, I would then with a quick verbal test determine (unbeknowen to the customer) if the end user had the common sense to keep his little piddys out of something dangerous.

Manufacturers do this all the time, Xbox have done this, the Xbox One S I have has the very thin very easy to damage audio tape like consistency sticker across the break seem, to stop the end user modding stuff or third party repairs.

Pff, Warranties, they're not worth the paper they're apparently written on, they're as bad as insurance companies, trying to worm their way out of replacement or repair and trying to blame the end user for factory faults & design defects, hence why I don't give a monkey's about those silly labels, if I bought it, I own it, and I can damned well try and fix it if it goes wrong...
