Validation problem

Hi, i have an Elvis multi-programmer, i have used it a few times and until recently not had any problems, but now i am struggling, when my card is inserted into my phillips box the picture comes up for about 15 seconds and then in the green banners it reads 'it has not been possible to validate this cards please contact blah blah blah'. can anybody please help?? it is not the card as i have tried two or three now, the programmer seems fine, any advice would be appreciated.
