Well I have this VX4USB programmer which I've just dusted off as I need to program a fun7 for dragonload.
Prob. is that the s/w that came with it doesn't run correctly anymore as it continually trys to update from the vxtools.com website which is defunct, despite the fact that i have set the "auto-update" parameter to "never".

anyway, I have a feeling it won't do a fun7.

question is, are there any other USB software out there that I could use or is this now a museum piece ??

Oh, I did wonder if there are any "virtual com port" utilities which would allow me to use serial programs thro the USB. any ideas ?

thanks

You can buy a rs232 serial post to USB converter cable, they cost around £15if you cant find a program that allows you to use a virtual port, I dont know of any programs that allow a virtual com port.

thanks for the info.
I think it's going to be too difficult to sort out so I guess I will invest (again) in a new programmer.
