Hi people,
first timer hear....
We just bought a new TV, 46" bravia....
And we want to "condense" the mess that goes with it.
mainly we want as few boxes as possible.
been building pcs for over 10 years and have made many successful HTPC's, we want to do one fro the living room. we need to be able to view and control from a motorised dish that we already have. and view DVB-t2 streams....but the freeview HD is the easy part.
My dad currently uses satellite and his motorized dish, this all needs to be controlled form the PC as-well, the media center interface is not important for this, as this will be dedicated to the "majority" which is the DVB-t2 stream. third part applications are OK to manage the DVB-s(2)? streams. Currently we have a Technomate T-8000 doing the PVR stuff, but its full and not very good. hence the want to offload this onto a much better suited HTPC
Ive done some digging and the SkyStar HD2 keep popping up, but i cant seem to find the information i need so be comfortable to make purchases.
I am VERY new to the satellite field, so some pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all!
