Toto's Africa again - this time its Chaos Divine doing the cover. Pretty good actually if you like somewhere between symphonic & prog rock!

You know it had to happen sooner or later

Stardate 1972 (yes some of us remember those long lost days!) Van Der Valk is on ITV with stories set in Amsterdam. The theme music Eye Level makes it to number 1 in the UK pop charts towards the end of the year. Shortly afterwards lyrics are added to the theme & Matt Munro gets a hit with And You Smiled

Stardate 1978. the Motors are singing about losing their love abroad with Airport. One year later the seemingly obligatory Finnish version surfaces....

1991 - 31 years ago, Genesis are in the charts with Jesus He Knows Me. 2023 & Ghost have come up with a rather nice rock version

I'm at a bit of a loss about this. It's actually quite a good pastiche but on the other hand...

Stardate 1984. Alphaville are in the chart with Big in Japan - (yes I know Ive mentioned this one before but its a nice tune)

Flash forward 38 years & Alphaville are doing a rather nice symphonic rock version of it :)

Stardate 1996 & Wolverhampton rockers Babylon Zoo go straight to number 1 with the ridiculously catchy Spaceman (helped a lot by its use in a Levi's advert!)

JUmp forward a few years & Katy Melua does a rather nice acoustic cover of it in her concerts

(I know Wolverhampton well - I went to uni there :D)
