which channel/satellite for footie?

ok now that ive set up my system could someone advise me what the best card for saturday football is?reading some of the other posts it seems that digitalb reception is dodgy(i am having trouble getting a signal at the moment anyway) Is there a better channel on another satellite that cards are available for?,also will i have to patch my receiver as well or is it just plug the card in and watch?

The card should work in your box, but it should be worth patching anyway. You may still need to do a bit of fine tuning if you are having problems on 16E, as a 90cm should be fine. You may need to use standard DiseqC and nudge the dish slightly with the East/West controls.

i HAVE got digitalb after all,It was under the channel titled premium sport! ok ,now i'm sure you will direct me to the correct place but being a complete novice ,why do you have to 'patch' your receiver? what exactly does patching do? and finally(for now!) by patching my receiver ,does this allow me to watch scrambled and premium channels?

im not too sure on your technomate receiver, but what i think rolf is referring to, is patching so that your card slot will become an emulator (software cam) capable of encyrpting your digitalb card (conax). (thats if the the receiver does not already decrypt the card.)

I presume you have or about to buy a digitalb card?

Also with patching there will be a couple of bouquets available to download to your receiver with keys, (premiere de and maybe TPS fr?)

but for a start, it would be good if you take a look at this site for live matches across europe, just place your cursor over the channel names for encyrption types, freq etc.
