Why is Intelsat25 so difficult to find ?

Tried last night to pin down this elusive bird at 31.5W ..
Elusive for me that is ..
Are any TV channels still active on this sat ?
Last night I walked Christina West from Intel 907 stopping at the first peaks I found ..
These were not huge the biggest being around 3db ...numbering 4 in total on a Verical scan...
All were data ...only one of which offered a lock on the TBS card..
All were sporting SRs over 2oooo
I wish I'd done screen grab but didn't ..expecting I'd be able to re-create this today..
Sadly nothing at all now in H or V
I did store the position in the Vbox so I know Christina hasn't moved.
Apart from the weather nothing else has changed.
wet but currently not raining.
So ..either I found something that was not Intelsat25 or Intelsat25 turned off those transponders ..or I am so fringe that Time of day plays a huge part.
Or this bird is inlclined and wobbles.
Are there any other inclined birds at roughly this point on the arc ?
Certainly neither Lyngsat nor Flysat were any help Identifying what I saw..
It will take the owner of a big dish to help me with this one I think,,

Just started raining ..and I managed to get one of those transponders back with a NO Lock or 0.0db ...?
4178 SR29993 ..
As I said there were more ..but this one is the first to return ..at a seriously low signal level..
Is this Intel25 is the question ..?

Thanks AS ..so it could well be that I have been tracking Intel 701...
If so ..the screengrab above may well improve as the day goes on ..
I'll try again in a while ..

still not found Intel25 ..but I guess I am closer than before..
currently at 29.5 on the arc..
Intel 25 may well be beyond my reach.

5 transponders in evidence now ..
All borderline lock ..but I'm guessing this bird 701 uses circular polarisation ...so a plate might help but of course I was searching for a linear bird with a non plated lnb ..
Still it just goes to show that this bird is still active ..

What was our hobby like before TBS cards ..
I'm so happy I have one ..
Indication of a lockable transponder at 0.0db ...was once unthinkable to me ..

I get a KU transponder Even at certain times of the day with good conditions, ive never had any C band transmissions but hopefully that will change in the near future, the footprint does not look good for this bird though, but it doesn't look good for KU and I get that.

Ok back to the hunt ..
Using Intel701 as a reference I moved Christina approx 25 more clicks Westward...
Intelsat701 is currently off the belt so as not to cause confusion ..
Nothing at all in a V scan but did get this rather weedy signal in H
First proving it is indeed a linear bird ...and in roughly the right area 30W
so ...I dont expect to be able to lock anything up ..but I think I may well have found Intel25

Yes that's 31.5°W IS-15 as reported by dx-qwer, you-know-where!
That's by far the strongest, maybe you'll get 4115 V 5300 1/2 (Mali) as well.

The Hunt is over ...posn now locked in the Vbox ...but I guess too fringe for my QTH

Some information here from the past when you've chased it pal, I am guessing the transponders found then have now changed ? at least you can cross reference just in case, happy hunting and good luck pal .
