Computer specs HP Pavilion G6 laptop 4gb ram 250gb ssd Info I was given an old HP Win8.1 laptop with a broken 1TB hard drive. I have an idea to repurpose this one as an sdr computer and run it headless when the ISS is transmitting the SSTV. I think it originally had 8gb ram but that was purloined to upgrade another laptop so I searched through the spares boxes and found 2x2gb sticks that would fit. Amazon provided a Crucial brand 250gb ssd for 30 quid delivered so I started the upgrade. Verdict Absolutely no problems whatsoever - win10 installed smoothly and automatically activated using the baked in Win8.1 key. Total cost Laptop - nil - donated as not working (faulty hdd) replacement ssd - £30 delivered replacement ram - nil - came out of the spares boxes
