Hi all
Just a quickie.
With this year's world cup being in Germany, what do you think the chances are of our German friends having more footy on than the UK channels?
(Hopefully lots and lots of fta on astra 19)

I think that you probably have a point, but it may be limted to one or two channels.

Hopefully they'll show some of the matches UK channels wilL miss.
My money's on DSF and RTL.

If you include Eurosport Uk then I think UK terrestrial and satellite channels will be showing quite a bit. The matches are usually scheduled so that there are not too many being played at the same time which gives the opportunity for more to be watched.

ISTR last time around the Germans launched 3 or 4 extra channels for the duration of the competition.

Extra channels eh..... best keep an eye out for them.
If I can't find a match worth watching now then it's time to give up I think.

The games are scheduled to run WITHOUT clashing, except for the last round of group games, in which the final two games in any group are played simultaneously. So, unless you intend on watching two games at the same time , this is a non-issue. And of course, they are all live either on BBC or ITV.

according to my (hopelessly inaccurate) predictions, Group C ends with Ivory Coast and Argentina through, Holland out, Mexico topping Group D, Spain out in Group H, with Australia the shock team, getting to the quarters... and England champions beating Germany, with Ukraine 3rd, and France 4th (France defeat Brazil in quarters).

A lot of games are going to be fta. Premiere has the rights to show all games and as far as I know in HD, which is gonna rock :-Jumbo

The free channels however are supposed to have the rights to just about every "interesting" game. Anyone know what the plans are with the rights in the UK?

The french channel M6 Suisse (FTA on eutelsatW3A) Have the rights to over 200 hours of world cup football. I saw it on a advert last night whilst watching the bolton game.
