OK ..I'm currently storing sat positions in my dual Gbox ...and as usual have hit my 'dead zone' around 50 East..
Directly opposite the troublesome tree which is currently leafless ..
I have never locked anything at 49E ...and the same goes for 46E ....and I suspect I never will ..
These are extreme fringe for me ...but have had a brief below lock spike which indicates ...errr...something on the arc ..
but no way anything but the TBS6983 would be able to grab it anyway ..
look at the SR ...it's huge..
So before I move the dish ...can anyone tell me what I have seen ...and where I am on the arc ..
???

According to my experience, when crazyscan show no lock and -10dB , you have 99.9% of chance to get a wrong SR or maybe absolutely nothing.

Chances are I'm looking at either yamal or azerspace ...but unless I can get a fraction more signal (which is doubtful at my location) ...I'll never know
Thanks for the info though ...

Morning VS....¿Is there any chance it is from Yamal?
I see that in the frequency range of 4000-4200 there is the Lynsat reported 4127 R and is the only one DVB-S.... ALL the others being DVB-S2 and as Feedsat_DXer hints.... 'when crazyscan show no lock and -10dB , you have 99.9% of chance to get a wrong SR'.

¿Have you been lucky?

We all have received things we thought was impossible....think thats why we do it at times!

Anyway good luck and enjoy your weekend. :)

hi - Vipersan -
although i have a somewhat restricted view of "Yamal " - Saba 1 - 3952 H 3499 is coming in at 9.8 db here this morning -- i,m surprised that you don,t see some signal from this transponder -- cant see anything at the frequency you were seeing though ?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

The 'signal' you are getting could be the tree itself. Try moving the dish and put another plant in front of the feedhorn

Good Idea CH ..
I'm thinking 'Orchid' ...
most suitable and apt for this location on the arc ..
Reception is always orchid for me around 50E

..or maybe Lupin would help ?
d'ya think it might get the signals lupin around the trunk ?
;)

Can't get that odd transponder to show today ....but shifted the dish approx 35 clicks westward ...and briefly got another oddity ..
this time at 3448V SR above 50000 QPSK
Now this may be a shot in the dark ...but I'm wondering if I am picking up transmission from a mobile telephone mast ...of which there is one in that general direction ..
..and this is swamping and corrupting genuine signals ..and crushing the tuners agc ??
so ...I get genuine transponders but wild SRs cos of the interference ...
2 odd infrequent non repeatable sinals in the space of about 10 degrees ...roughly in line with a frickin fone mast ???
I'm giving up on this section of arc..
What I do remember is that last year I got pulsating signals that varied wildly in strength ..but remained unlockable from 46E..
cest la vie..
