i haveDish tv zenega CD 1006s Receiver system, which is still not upgraded.
by seeing the fate of mine onother Receiver CD-1005s which is upgrade few days ago
, i determinet to not to upgrade my this CD 1006 Recever.
For this i have taken some measurs to not take upgradation incidently , as follows.
1) Connected my receiver through Disequc swich .( as i wached during CD-1005s upgradation,
Receiver was not getting signal for upgradation through Diseqc Swich ).
since receiver not getting signal though it during upgrdation.
2)Changed the polarity of all the transponders from Vertical to Horizontal and vice -versa.
3)Rotaded the LNB 90 degree. (Vertical to Horizonlal)
4)Searched the all transponders again .
( Menu- instalation-Search setup-Search type-All-Search Current ANT-OK)
now i enjowing all channels.
i think this can prevent by force uogradation .

Rotating the lnb and swapping the polarity is around is ingenious but you will probably find the s/w download is piggybacked on on one of the tv frequencies. If you can still receive tv channels you will still be getting the software signals.

The disecq switch is transparent to all the signals received from the dish INCLUDING the s/w downloads.

You cannot stop automatic s/w downloads - enjoy the freedom of your box whilst you still have it. If its anything like the SkyUK boxes an interruption to the electricity supply could trigger the upgrade as its downloaded into memory and triggered later. (Your box could already have the s/w stored on it! )
