OCTAGON SF8008 E2 4K UHD

My Octagon SF8008 SUPREME arrived yesterday afternoon. Got it home and disaster, crashing, unstable video, failed rescues! Left it powered all night and this morning it was receptive to recovery and has been working all day. It must have been that it was so cold in the truck to the post office, -25C yesterday, (-30C today) that the warm damp air in our house condensed onto the circuit board.

I have two sf8008's and they both say that I have no internet when I try to use the online update in the recovery menu even though when booted they have no problem. Is there a trick?
 
ok can you upload a photo in the same frequency of the two sf8008 satellites to give us an idea of the tuner sensitivity @dmaavrigdo
 
How long did you leave it to warm up after taking out of the cold ?
correct - as tempting as it is to power up, if its cold, and full of condensation, you have to leave it to get to room temp before switching on, moisture \ condensation can wreck it
 
And how can it process radios with low SR?

I'm not suprised for the low SR, most probably they still use the same tuner driver revision as the official Edision with the 1000 low SR limitation.

There will always be problems with the software at the beginning. I think it will take a few weeks for everything to work stably.
Now these are just tests, but I see from your posts that it is not very beautiful. And it was supposed to be the best in reception and show the signal bars best, but it is a disappointment.
 
Availink has its advantages and disadvantages, it can detect some "weird" DVB combinations, it supports short and long frame, but the low SR is a struggle. I'm not even sure if the new tuner/demodulator combination will make things better or worse.
 
Are you saying SR 940 works? And it's not exactly 1000 limit?
An SR 1000 limitation in the firmware acts as a filter, which makes the tuner insensitive to lower SR than 1000. 940 is close, that means that it can tune slightly lower, but it struggles a lot more and takes more time to lock.
 
Supreme lock SR 940 without problem even blindscan found it.
But for example from 8W (12620 V 890) NO LOCK.

I think that this new version will not differ much from the normal version of sf8008
No drivers will help here.^_^
