Hi Moonbase. Been a bit busy of late but I have put a few mods into this stand. I've cut it in half and welded a flange to the joint making it a lot easier to carry up a ladder. The top half still weighs in at 8.5kg and the bottom bit is 12kg. I've also welded tabs to the bars and both the top...

Wanted Anyone got a Non Penetrating Roof Mount for a 1.2 CM

Cj. Have you got a picture of it by any chance? I've got a courier that just operates in the south and you don't have to wrap it. When you think of the amount of fuel involved it makes good sense.

Hi CJ. Well I don't mind a bit of painting! Are you a million miles from Maidstone? Steve

Wanted Anyone got a Non Penetrating Roof Mount for a 1.2 CM

As you know, the 1224 motor I has 3 inch so I'm going to need something with a pole to suit. As you say, 4.5 inch would probably be over doing it a bit! Nice thought though....but a possibility. I may have to actually make something I think.

Wanted Anyone got a Non Penetrating Roof Mount for a 1.2 CM

Hi CH. The IRTE mount I think you may be referring to, TJ still has with a 1.8 dish on it, and its for sale on that well known auction site. The mount I have came with the 1.2 CM that I purchased from TJ but its too heavy to get up onto my flat roof. I've thought about cutting it up and making...

Wanted Anyone got a Non Penetrating Roof Mount for a 1.2 CM

Anyone got a Non Penetrating Roof Mount suitable to fit a CM 1.2 with a 1224 motor mount fit? One that comes apart would be nice. I have a one piece mount and it doesn't come to bits to make it easy to get it up there. Its just too heavy. Its a 3 inch vertical mast, sleeved over a thinner pipe...

You can call it overkill if you like MB, but when I put that dish up there, it won't move! Although I have a fairly large south facing rear garden, that cunning pallet setup you built just wouldn't work for me. Too many levels and steps. I like it though. Interesting on the SF8008 receiver. I'll...

Hi Moonbase. The receiver I have here is a 5400 CI+ USB. I don't know how good or bad that one is. As far as I know, none of them are good for HD unless its stated on the case somewhere. There are other makes out there as well but I'd sooner I had a recommendation from someone on here rather...

Just Sharing This Had this given to me.

Hi John. I'm totally new to this subject so I'm hoping that there is some info on this kit! I've never seen that module that's on the end where an LNB would usually be. If its going to be of use to me I'll hang on to it. Steve

Hi CH. I was just about to put the pics on when I was prompted that we were late for something, so here they are. I've thought long and hard about siting the dish on the floor but the other half just wont have it, so its going on the flat roof. There is a better look at the sky from there...

Its amazing what turns up when you start on a new interest. Sorry if this is in the wrong part of the forum. I've been given this today but I'm not sure exactly what it is. I think its for receiving a broardband connection. The dish is about 90cm across and 75cm high and at the LNB end, there's...

Thanks for that info Mickha. I do have a couple of meters that I bought when finding satellites in Spain. O'ne looks very much like the one you have there. I think it has a compass on it as well. I've been looking through the threads here and the TM 5302HD box seams to be favoured over the 5400...

Here are some pics. The black LNB came with the first (fixed) dish. Ten pics in all. Hope this is not breaking any rules!

Well I now have another CM 1.2, a very well built (76mm) stand with a 1224 motor/v-box, and a Technomate 5400 CI+ USB receiver. The dish has a very small crack on the back-turned lip and has a small support plate across it, held with a small nut and bolt each end of the plate to stop the crack...

Oh right. Can’t see me with a 2.4 dish in the back garden! This is my first system and still learning.
