I designed this small assembly so that an old LNB (9.75/10.75 -14/18V) + mechanical polarotor can be recognized by the sf8008 as a universal LNB with OL 9.75/10.75 instead of 9.75/10.6.
It works very well, you have to adjust the two polar values at each satellite position.
here is the...
Are there people who use a mechanical polarotor?
in KU band?
Which LNB: OL=9.75-10.75 band select 14/18V or OL 9.75-10.6 band select 22khz?
On my EGIS installation I am going to put a mechanical polarotor and a 9.75/10.75 LNB and I am going to add a small interface to control this LNB with...
i have to make some adapters to use an old LNB : i set the sf8008 as universal lnb (tone for band select) .
i juste change the OL values .
i want to keep 14/18V as polar change .
i detect 22k to change power supply for old lnb .
i keep 14/18 to change polarotor value .
to make some test...
I had the opportunity to buy a 140 cm prime focus, I made an adaptation to mount it on the EGIS engine.
The particularity of this AZ-EL motor is that the number of pulses is proportional to the displacement (100 pulses in AZ - 400 pulses in EL). I can therefore calculate with great precision...
this kind of lnb had 9750 and 10750 mhz as local oscillator
to switch band it s 14/18V .
i drawn a special card to manage this .
for me wide band and full band is equal .
now the upper LO is 10600 but for me it s ok .
i had sent some electronics pieces in UK , export sheet is simple , just put "old spares" .
taxes are for a full set like TV or audio unit etc .
delivery price has increase also ..
thanks to boris !!!!
trust:
i use my EGIS to improve my positioner program and i have found an 1.20m...
Does anyone have an old LNB: dual band (9.75/10.6 or 9.75/10.75) single polarization, to associate with a mechanical polarotor?
I need it to carry out tests on an EGIS mount.
no need for a high-performance model (norsat) but rather an antique from the 2000s.
The EGIS motor has a contact which detects the “0” or origin position on the AZ motor and on the EL motor.
My program uses these positions to initialize the AZ and EL counters.
If we wish to have 9000 due south and 14000 at maximum elevation due south, a value must be added to the AZ and EL...
