Just as a side note BBC iplayer is extending its services to Central Europe and US with the rest of Europe to follow so soon you wont need a VPN although there will be a monthly charge for iplayer and it will only be a catch-up service.

If I understood correctly the new 2E, 2F and 2G will have widebeams along with the spot beams and some Sky channels will still be on the widebeams, on the new satellites?

So my next question is why would Sky be testing on the wide beams? Does this mean we may get some sky channels on the wide beams?

How come we could get the Sky test last week, but not the tests on the spot??

It was good while it lasted I guess! Note I have added a slingbox HD to my setup, its better than having no UK TV! Im sure by the time my dishes are totally redundant for UK TV reception we will have at least 1080i over IP! Where is the big satellite dish graveyard in Limassol, Cyprus:D

Well the HD slingbox give a res of 1280x544, its not quite HD but its better than nothing and considerably better than SD!!!! The slingcatcher does upscale to 1080i but its still not as crisp as a Sky HD box. Nonetheless it works for my football first and that is better than nothing...

If you see message 417, Zorba is in Cyprus and he has told me to bring back a bigger dish. (I already have a 4.2m dish so that isn't happening) which basically means we are not receiving the new frequency in Cyprus I assume. I wont be bale to confirm until next week when I go back, but Zorba...
