Hi Guys can anyone just confirm that I have that correct idea of setting up my own satellite list
like for Thor 6 (0.8°W) input the details from Freq/Pol 12092.00 H into High Freq and from SR, FEC 28000 7/8 into Low Freql . or is there a way to upload the information from the .ini file and upload that to my sat finder WS-6933?

I have tried this today and while I do get a signal lock I don't get the quality bar even when I connected it to my sky dish which is already setup so I am obviously doing something wrong

Forget 72.1e and 78w... You'll never get these as footprints are nowhere near UK, except perhaps occasional feeds.

Check BBC world transponder... You can find the details on Lyngsat or Flysat for pretty much every satellite over Europe.

I am unable to see why you are having so much trouble. Maybe being impatient. Make sure the pole is upright, it is a must, set the dish angle for your area. . As has been said. 0.8w. Very very slowly move dish left to right by loosening the brackets on the pole, and when you get a hint of a signal tilt the dish back or forward. BBC World News, Sky News and Aljazeera are all strong transponders. Get the best signal on there and tighten the bolts. Then move to 28.2 e with the motor and move the dish with the motor, bit by bit. Tweak the dish angle, find the best strength. But this has all been said before.

From my experience I found the dish only needs to be moved a minute fraction to hit or miss a signal. You can go e to w and get nothing, adjust the dec angle and try again, all adjustments are minute amounts. Took me 2 hours last time to get a lock on o.8W and that was with it all set up by the book.

been doing a bit of work today on my dish because I was not happy with it . I have removed 2 of the polls that are in red so now the dish is on poll 1 so as you are looking at the picture front and back is level and the top left is level yet the top right hand side is not level how can this be
