Be safe

Those beacons are quite powerful for me, more so than the V carriers.

Yes agreed Llew, managed to manually swing the Hughes around to H and that indeed has bought up those very strong spikes. One of my summer jobs is to get the motorised polarity changer back on the Ka Band A set-up again as that would have solved the querie a lot quicker.
I see the nag racing is still going strong at 18.768 H.

Yes, I'm sure that changer saves a lot of bother having to manually adjust. All my dishes are at ground level apart from the Gibby. so it's no great shakes having to orientate the single polarity LNB's (the Gibby LNB is an IBU.)

... I think it will still be around tomorrow Llew, it seems to be in a test mode at the moment, keeps ramping up and down in power from low level stuff to the very high levels. I'll keep the dish on it now until tomorrow.

Nothing on the TD88 John. If you see any more activity a little more permanent, It'll be worth me swopping out the LNB on the Gibby.

. just come back in from going out Llew, it's now 11.23am, there's now about 6 carriers present at decent strength - not had chance yet to investigate further.

.... That's the stuff from 39° East Hellas Sat 3 Llew that's RHC.
The stuff at 42° has dropped quite a bit in level, but there are still the 6 spikes running right now and the strongest with me is at 18.592 at around 11.5dB

Can anybody throw any light on what seems to be two Ka beacon frequencies from Arabsat 5c or another sat that's occupying 20°East.
Polarity unknown at this stage - only able to use Vertical at the moment on the lnb.

They appear to peak at 19E and are horizontal. 18411.5MHz is a 100kHz wide data signal. 18405.25 is a carrier.

I'm looking through trees, get about 1dB ground noise and my system droops at the bottom but I can just see the 6. However, I think that they are circular as I can't null them.

Have you seen this? Satellites Community - 42.0°E Türksat 4A
Maybe @Feedsat_DXer or @dx qwer can help?

No , not seen those listings Graham.
Yep, could be stuff off Turksat ? ... don't really know at this stage.
If that is the case then baring in mind the other day when i first saw the first spike ramping up from the noise to anywhere between 16dB to 22dB, i was using V pol lnb (and still are) then if indeed they were circular sigs i can't imagine what the dB figures would have been if i had been running with my poloriser on ?. So yeah- still a bit of an unconfirmed mystery at the moment.

Yep, sorted that mystery one out Graham the other day .... my lnb was on V but a knats tad off skew and was letting the very strong H sigs show themselves. Now rectified.
