It's not about the ODU itself but the way they can be utilised / approved for terrestrial use once additional isolation is installed.

I have the document somewhere in the office, it's more to do with point to point systems than uplinking to a geostationary satellite.
Not quite the one I was looking for.

Thank you for your feedback and your explanation and I completely validate your analysis.
But I have my idea...
yes it's a game run by my wallet...
I don't have the budget for a full band LNB or several LNBs at 300 euros for each part of the band.
I remember modifying several LNBs 20 years ago to drag the frequency up or down.
I'm not saying it's possible with the SORASAT LNB but it covers the central part of the spectrum and so if it's possible it's the most suitable for testing.
it is also possible that it covers a little more than expected.
Probably a bit late but Triax also have a Ku band LNB in their catalogue.

I think it's the same, it looks the same...

Anyway, I'm expecting the same double-output LNB this week, two AN8004s and one AN8002.
I hope to receive 3 other AN8002 before the end of the month.
three are not for me but for other forum users. :)

My idea now is to use almost directly:

One AN8002 modified for A-band
One AN8002 for B-band
One Twin Ka LNB for the B-band
One AN8004 for a part of the D-band

I hope that this whole team will fit on a LNB changer managed by the positioner of @dreambox1959 :)

If you are using the CM reflector, think about reinforcing the feed arms before fitting.

The Triax and Labgears have different casings, though they could be the same internally. I may attempt to remove the covers later if I get 10 minutes.

yes I have been thinking about reinforcement for a while now.
At the same time I took note that the focal point is not good and that it is necessary to limit the weight of the structure because of the weight of the DiSEqC motor and all LNB...
I will have lot of fun :)

The Triax is fatter than the Inverto. Differences include dipole and LOF doubling arrangements. Teflon filter damping on Inverto mine.

Incidentally, does anyone know why the designers of the Saorsat LNB used a 10.6 GHz Hi band KU DRO instead of a Ka Band B DRO (9.125 GHz)? Cheaper to source?

Maybe. The high side LO could be to avoid a system spurious or to take the image out of a busier part of the band.

It looks like the Triax uses harmonic mixers (anti-parallel diodes fed by 10.6G, i.e. fLO/2) whereas the Inverto has a doubler with the mixers fed by 21.2GHz (2 x osc frequency)

A lot of the Triax components could be used in many other devices.

This may be of interest

A little too late my friend.
It's like me, I've been trying for 3 days to find 2 or 3 AN8002s for friends in this forum and I only have good feedback for AN 8004...
Obviously it's usually the hardest to find...

Yes, thanks, I can understand that. Gives a 20.2 => 19.7 - reversed image.

I can see how the Inverto doubler works - the Triax, I'll need to study that one a bit further

It's a shame it has water damage but it might be reparable - the polorisor and feed are very useful though for any future projects.
I find that the scalar feeds match very well onto Gibertini or CM reflectors.
