I had this issue with a Dreambox a few years ago. I replaced the IR sensor on the front and it was much better. My only issue is the lack of response from the rc unless it's pointed directly at the receiver, not bad for a box that cost me $95 with shipping.
I've had my x2 premium III for about a month now. It was a bit buggy at first but the x square team has come up with 4 fw upgrades already, awesome support. I admin at a NA site that has the exclusivity to their latest fw releases on my side of the pond. Blind scan is real fast and tuner sensitivity is up there as well. Latest fw update addressed the iptv/internet features and that is now working spot on.
This receiver came equipped with just about everything but the kitchen sink. I'm using it on the tough Atlantic circular sats on my 8' solid and it's solid. I was a bit leery as it is an ali chip receiver and I've tested many of those in the past but this box is by far way superior to all of those. My only issue is the lack of response from the rc unless it's pointed directly at the receiver, not bad for a box that cost me $95 with shipping.

Perhaps you can look into doing this too?
Thank you for the information Costactc, I am just going to order one, I am pleased with the X2 a bit buggy in places but I have £300 before on a box that had lots more bugs so I am pleased for the price.
You need to open the receiver and find out what IR sensor you have there. Then find an equivalent and replace.I've never attempted anything like that before, care to tell me a bit more as to how to go about doing this?
Hi Costactc, does the X2 remote clash with the X111 please.

It may of course be as simple as the IR sensor isn't looking directly out of the receiver but has been bent some way or another. Straightening it out will also improve things.

I might go for a skybox m3 as well Ray with the talk of it doing Ns3.I was thinking about getting an openbox or something similar.
Just had a look at an x2 on amazon .com.
I may go for one of these.
I am thinking about getting a receiver to replace the TM5400 in the front room.It dose not get used much these days.
I have some channels in mind that will interest Mrs Ponti. No lan cable to the front room.So Wifi will be an advantage.
I think that the x 2 has it built in?.Skybox later maybe.
