I had another go yesterday, using bread flour from same manufacturer, exactly same ingredients and the result was a little bit better, but not quite the dream bread I am trying to make.
It was tasty after it cooled down, but the bottom was too hard because of the proximity to the heating element.
Also it was too crumbly and left a lot of crumbs on the plate.
I left it in the fridge overnight (not freezer) and this morning it didn't taste good and looked too dry.
I think a lot depends on the bread making machine and my Morphy Richards model is probably not such a good one.
Here is my recipe for Basic Bread, medium crust with Loaf Size 700gm
Bake time 60 minutes.
Water 250ml
Margarine or butter 1 tbsp
Salt 1tsp
Dry milk 1.5 tbsp
Sugar 1.5 tbsp
Bread flour 450gm
Dry Yeast 1.25 tsp
I couldn't find dry milk in the shops so I skipped that and used best quality olive oil instead of margarine or butter.
Is there any way to improve on this recipe or on my method?
I might try again and use the bread machine to make dough and then stick it in the oven and see if that helps.
