Ive managed to pic:mad:k up 1.8 Andrews dish. Just wanted to explore if anyone has a good result on cband and 7W horizontals. Also is it best to have a c120 flange LNB and get a feedhorn. Any tips greatly appeciated.

On that size dish, certainly a c120. You may struggle for 7w Horz's in the West Midlands.

Most Channel Master users recommend C120 flange so thats the way Ill go. Incidentally I contacted a website today regarding a channel master feedhorn and they said it was adjustable. Could anyone confirm the CM feedhorn is adjustable? Another thing for me to consider is the cable to i.e webpro etc as I am going to need a cable run of 40m.Its a big garden and thats the only spot has a clear skyview. I understand that the Inverto LNB's work best on longer cable runs?

40 Mts shouldn't cause you any problems; just make sure you fit good quality f connectors.

Im arranging for the dish to be picked up on saturday. Im also hoping its got the original polar mount. Apparently it has been motorised but the current owner never set this up hes always had it on 1W. Will feedback after dish is collected regarding modifications to the mount etc. Fingers crossed x.

It's custom made for the dish so their is no need for it to be adjustable. Only thing you can adjust is skew. If you want C-band on that dish on offset LNBs you are going to need to modify the Ku LNB holder support arms. Maybe Nelson can post some pictures of his.

Thanks Huevos very informative reply always here. You have definetly nailed my plans Ill be running both Ku and C Band so the LNB bracke wil need modification. If our buddy Nelson has some pics of the LNB bracket modification then thats good news. Im too much time thinking about which sensitive receiver to get and cant make my mind up F15 or TM5402. Ill toss the coin tomorrow :)

Why don't you try a c/ku band lnbf?

Apparently, combined LNBF's dont work so well in UK and apparently they dont have low KU bandwith coverage. Dont know if other users have tested this out?

I followed this up with a supplier and asked him if he was serious. He was trying to sell me off a Global Invacom adjustable feedhorn as opposed to a 'channel master / andrews feedhorn' lol.

Nice work Nelson :) you also have 1.8m also would like to know if your are still happy with the inverto white as I am looking to get a c120 tflange. Also looks like BCS 421c can be picked up easily in the uk. Now all I need to figure out is getting the right receiver. Hope you had a nice holiday :)

That's true I wasn't thinking. Ku band here in North America only uses 11700-12200 with the exception of several Atlantic sats which I use a universal lnb for.

hi --

here are some pics of the current setup -- i,v tried a number of different home made bracket arrangements -- this "meccano" style one is rock solid and easy to adjust or change l.n.b,s -
however you do it the side arm/supports need to be lowered considerably to be well out of the way of the C band feeds

the white inverto is good on this dish -- :)
i,v tried some home made C120 ,s , and i had a black ultra twin conversion on for a while - which "very" marginally out performed it on some frequencies - but its gone weak/faulty so i,v gone back to the white tech - i tried a smart titanium twin also , but the white tech was slightly better across all the weak channels that i tested ---

regards nelson.b.

yes -- one for circular transponders -- with (dielectric) T plate
and one for the H/V linear transponders (no plate needed)
just had one C Band l.n.b. initially - but got sick of going out across the yard and up the ladder to take the plate in and out between sats/channels -- L.O.L. :)
Huevos has the same sort of setup -- probably for the same reason :D
