Your amazing Nelson. Didnt know you could do so much with the 1.8 Arms. Well well try and give it a go in the next few weeks. Should be picking up the dish either tomorrow or Sunday. Ill keep you posted.

you cant do that with 1.2 c.m. dish arms -- because of the way they are fastened at the dish end .
it needs a different type of bracket to carry just a single C band l.n.b instead of the K/U one

cheers .

Thats top notch. I knew that particular LNB came with the Dielectric plate ... do the H/V channels on c band are troublesome with the plate. Thanks I hate climbing all the time :) well I ve still got a few reflexes remaining like Gordon Banks!

Yes, I started off with one LNB too but soon got fed up running backwards and forwards to the dish every time I changed satellite.

I've removed the 4th LNB now that I modified the Fibo for inclinde satellites.

In my next project (probably a 2.4 PF dish) I am going to stack the LNBs vertically and move them with an actuator. That way I will always have the active LNB at the focal point (and have inclinded tracking in both bands) and I will only need one DiSEqC 1.2 position for each slot.

If a satellite is linear you have to take the plate out otherwise the signal will be 3dB down... and not only that if the H and V transponders were on the same frequency the signals would just mix together and neither would be resolvable.

Seeing this on 3.3E with its Horizontal polarised Libyan channels there, they tune in both H and V found it odd they would of had both a Left and Right broadcast on same frequency and same symbol rate till Lyngsat updated saying it was Horizontal and I went oooh that's why.

Nothing weird about both polarisations being on the same frequency and symbol rate. For example it is how the first 12 transponders on EB1 are configured.

Of course, what I meant was the exact same channels with the same PID's, that's not something I've come across and there be no reason to.

Well that's what happens when someone is in too much of a hurry to register their latest find.

That's because you are using a big dish, but for us with our tiddlers we don't stand a hope if the dish is set up for the wrong polarisation.

 yes -- it is my D.I.Y arrangement for catching inclined sats --- its also come in handy for fine tuning - since i added the two C band LNB.s -- you can just see in the picture a large counterweight at the end of the long arm to reduce wear on the vertical jack -- (the jack is still in good condition after many years of use)

cheers -- :)
