hi -

the power did indeed come up after 7.30 for the Africa TV & Tayba transponder and i could view them both ok-

but seemed to weaken a bit on the 2 i posted weak signals from yesterday --
but this morning despite the weather -- i locked a picture from - 3913 R
TV de Mauritanie --its still there now but only just :)

the signal on ..3900 R is better than 3913 R but is just a black screen --

cheers nelson.b.

Thanks for the update Nelson ..
Just tried 3913R ...but still nothing doing ..
I'll have a play around with the scalar plate ..but I'm hoping the ESX lnb might improve things when it arrives..

hi - the result i got on - 3913R - may be the result of making and fitting a "vipersan" T plate :)- i made one yesterday - when i fitted it last night i got the same signal levels on all t.p.s at 20 east that i,d been getting with a "D.O.S." plate - but left it in overnight anyway. -
i,m hoping to get time to test and compare further , later today , if the weather holds up - fine at the moment - just cloudy --

the T plate dimension post in another thread was a help -
but my blue offset feed has an extra ring - to yours - so there are some differences -

cheers --

Thanks for the report Nelson ..
Encouraging m8..

If you get time can you test the T plate on Pentagon @1W ..
For me it outperforms all other plates by a considerable margin ..
See my other ..dedicated T plate thread for recent test results ..

..I should perhaps point out that I'm not expecting _better_ results than the DOS plate..
The Only real advantage being that it outperforms a standard dielectric plate ..and unlike the DOS plate isn't position critical ..so doesn't require 'tuning' as such ..
It appears to give a flat increase in gain accross the spectrum ...but of course it really was shaped originally for a PF dish
;)

hi been playing around with a T plate for the last couple of hours -- i,m getting improved signals from most transponders at 20 east and -- 1 west -- pentagon and ERTU channels - i will post more detail of my findings in your T piece thread later -
have to go out for an hour or two now --

cheers

Heres an odd one m8's ..
Last night about 11pm a feed opened up on this sat @ 3705R sr2959

A libyan Feed provided by Tandberg .. ?

Thing is The transponder isn't even listed at Lyngsat ...so I guess I can claim a first ?

..The feed is still running this morning

Here are the photos ..one has the channel info..
rgds

..just sent details off to Lyngsat ..
Maybe they will add it to the web page for Arabsat 2B

I have to say I'm a bit disappointed ..
Not with the actual find ..
But that lyngsat ..which updated this morning ...didn't add my find to the Arabsat 2B webpage..

I thought it might be considered for upload ..simply because they don't even list that transponder as in use ..
cest la vie

They're a strange bunch on Lyngsat, I sent them details of a feed I caught for Mali TV on 45W, got a reply saying it couldn't possibly have been as that transponder doesn't exist on Intelsat 14! I've not bothered since.

hi -
i,v not sent updates to lingsat --
but have sent a few C band ones to flysat - in the past, it sometimes took 2 days before they added them -------

the transponder signal strengths on this sat are crazy some strengthen in the evening -- some in the mornings --- and some seem to just vary -at random

cheers .

I agree Paul ..
Thats why I was thinking they might ignore it ..
But It has been confirmed by Nelson ...and I also included a screen cap displaying the channel info to lyngsat ..
So I was hopeful ..
