Your receiver is not compatible. Bbc frequency is dvb-s2. You need a new, hd receiver.

Yup that receiver is too old to handle DVB-S2 frequencies. DVB-S only.

Are there really 11626V on 27.5W? It is behind of trees here, but frequency (and symbol rate) sounds familiar and can find from 24.5W (Televisa). Though it is Horizontal not V.

Op was just showing that he/she had lock on correct satellite 27.5W.

The correct freq. is :-

...so if she/he had lock really on 27.5W, there´s frequency 11626(V) in use?

According the the screen shot posted by the op s94 q 78.

But cannot find any active tps with that freq. on that sat. using KOS.

Am not that interested in this bird, as it hidden behind a 500 meter mountain:eek:

What I am trying to say, is that I believe the founded satellite position is 24.5W not 27.5W. On 24.5W has 11626 13500. Maybe her/his Lnb only polarity crossed around and thats why it shows Vertical as it should be Horizontal (if founded sat 24.5W what I believe).

Think your right! 24.5w.has that freq. active well spotted:)

As it was a old stb might have suffered sat. position overlap, they are quite close to each other 3 degrees between them.

Also this bird behind a great big mountain.

...and quite often people "trust blindly" what reciever say?!?! I mean many times people try to find some satellite and make channel search using definitely that wishing satellite. Then something finded and ooops mistake done. It really is some other satellite in practise. You can put what ever frequency for any of satellite and if theres signal then you should check what channels are founded to analyze, are you really there where you wish to be:)

Example->
1W 001.JPG

There´s not KeravaSat (though I live in Kerava) on 1W:-rofl2

ps. hope you understand my english enough:)

Hello marcoo! These "normal" meters/boxes are basicly dumb repeaters. They handling only frequencies, symbol rates etc. Though there are identify data from satellites, normal consumer devices not take a stance on what satellite is in question. Pci-cards etc (and sure older enthusiasts) are the ones that makes identity clear.

I have been using this service for several years using a Technomate TM-5402 M2. Since then there have been many cheap Chinese receivers launched at very low prices. On paper many of these should work (suitable symbol rate and BISS) but I am worried that the user interface might restrict the ability to actually manually add the channels.

Please can anyone report back on any success stories regarding more recently available, cheap receivers ?

Many thanks.
