The Afghan TV signal level on 11620 H, SR2000 is still increasing as the evening progresses, it is up to 6.3dB now.

I have attached below a chart below showing the signal level evolution of the Afghan TV frequency (11620H, SR2000), measured at various times of the day.
The measurements were taken over a period of several days and are not all from the same day.

If there are any UK located DX men wishing to try for some fringe reception of this satellite it certainly seems that evening offers the best opportunity.
I could not get anything from the other beams on this satellite. I only managed to lock the Afghan TV frequency from the Fixed 3 beam.

.. I'll have a look later on this afternoon / early evening MB on my tiny 1.2 CM up here in the Midlands - might see it on the analyser but doubt i'll get enough for a lock

What size antenna do you use to receive the signal?

Just purely out of optimism I thought I'd give it a go, but nothing at all here, can't even 'see' it on a scan! Probably another one of those with an extremely sharp drop-off as you travel north through the UK.
