Abu Dhabi Media Company said on Sunday that football fans from across the GCC can now subscribe to its coverage of the English Premier League, adding that a website dedicated to would-be customers had gone live.

John Dykes, formerly a presenter with ESPN Star Sports, and Mark Pougatch, who has presented Match of the Day in the UK, were named as two of the faces of ADMC’s live English-language offering – available 24/7 on AD Sports 5 and 6.

Football fans can now subscribe to watch all 380 matches live – available with both English and Arabic commentary.


In addition, AD Sports’ flagship English channel, AD Sports 5, will offer 24/7 coverage of Premier League TV, the official channel of the Premier League.

A second English channel, AD Sports 6, will bring viewers a mix of Barclays Premier League action and coverage of other sports including Formula 1, UFL and tennis, all in HD. Those without HD televisions will be able to watch without any problems.

Viewers have a choice of three ways to subscribe to all the English Premier League action on AD Sports – satellite TV, cable TV or online by logging on to ADMCsport.com.

Etisalat said in a statement on Sunday that the Abu Dhabi Sports Package would be available for free to any new customer subscribing to, or upgrading their existing single or eLife double play package to eLife triple play (internet, fixed-line and TV service) for Master (8Mbps), Premier (16Mbps) or Max (30Mbps) packages.

All other eLife triple play as well as E-Vision customers can enjoy watching the Barclays Premier League for only AED29 per month for a 12 month subscription.

Last month, ADMC announced that satellite TV viewers will pay up to AED999 for the HD decoder, which comes with a smartcard providing a year’s subscription to the AD Sports channels that will be broadcasting the league.

For users who currently have a compatible Humax HD decoder, smartcards can be bought alone for AED370 for a year’s subscription. They will also continue to get all the current free to air channels.

Users can also subscribe through their local IPTV (cable) provider. The recommended retail price for a basic package will be AED75 per month.

Liverpool legend Ian Rush, former England and Liverpool midfielder Steve McManaman and France and Chelsea star Marcel Desailly will kick off the Arabic programming on AD Sports channels 3 and 4 in a season preview special, to be aired on August 13, the company added.

Appearing alongside the line-up will be the newly announced presenting team for AD Sports Arabic Barclays Premier League programming – Mohammed Najeeb, Osama Al Amiri, Haitham Al Hamadi and Hamed Al Harthriy.

AD Sports first Arabic match-day broadcast will see Tottenham Hotspur take on Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City at home. Arabic programming on AD Sports 3 and 4 will also include Inside the Premier League, The Premier League Live, Football Fever and Final Score.

Mohammed Najeeb, director of AD Sports Channels, said: “The line-up of Barclays Premier League programming and the talent that we are bringing to the AD Sports Channels are unlike anything seen before in this region. We are raising the standard for both Arabic and English audiences, and offering more than just games and analysis."

He added: “We are proud to be able to name such a prestigious line-up of talent for our shows. If the football was not enough to keep people watching, then the talent alone certainly will be.”

I managed to find the receiver and card package at carrefoure. Set 'em up and working. Got channels AD Sports HD 3-8, AD NatGeo Adventures HD, AD NatGeo Wild HD, AD Fox Movies HD, AD Sky News HD.

The card is not built in, it is separate, just like any of the other irdeto cards I've got like showtime, Jazeera sports etc. The receiver is Humax IR HD.

Question is, I'm not quite sure the card will work on my other receiver, the Fortec Star Innovation HD.

Tried activating it on their website _activate.admcsport.com/admcb2c/ActivateSc.aspx but it wasn't working so had to call 'em up to give them my receiver and card ID to activate.

The question is where can we buy just a card?!?

I had an email today from a card supplier saying card only package will be available from the end of September at the earliest. That means bars that want to show several matches at once in August will not be able to use a card splitter and will have to buy several boxes with the siliconed in card at around 500€ a throw.

Tring is on 16E. They won the rights for Albania from Digitalb.

But depending on who you believe depends on how many if any 3pm they will actually show!

You can get it on your DM using official sub or via cards*****g if thats your flavour.

Thanks for the infor. It may be an option for me as I have only just bought the D.M. and the missus wouldn't like it if I had to buy another receiver. lol.

Please be very carefully when you buy the cards not all of them will have EPL 3 PM...Specially when you buy from not authorize dealers on Ebay or Albania..

Now this Darkman geezer has come under for a bit of critisicm after last year and his Digitalb promise of Sat 3pm KO and we saw.......er, NONE!
The EPL put a broadcast ban on Digitalb (Albanias other Satellite package) from broadcasting the 3pm games. Maybe not Darkmans fault directly but he had in "confirmed" from Digitalb etc etc that they were showing the games blah blah blah (similar to Tring confirmation above)

And now Tring who operate on the same satellite and is as easy to recieve as Digitalb was in the UK "will show 8 games on a Sat with 4-5 live at 3pm."

They dont have the channel capacity to show 5 live games yet although they are launching more channels around September time apparently.

I would personally hold off buying a Tring card until end of August time until we know exactly what is being shown and what isnt, rather than believing somebody who "is in the know" who also funnily enough has to sell a chunk of these cards to put tea on his families table!
