According to the datasheet, the centauri has larger loss: 5dB vs. 3dB and is much more expensive.
I have 3 centauris. They work fine, even in combination with a long cable. up the Because they are big,
it is also easy to attach and detach cables.

However, this Vyzion switch does not seem very practical for outdoor use with cables on all 4 sides.
Or do I miss something?

My centauri 16/1 is on the end of 25-30m of WF100 cable (+ up to 8m of cables to the LNBs themselves) and there's also a Smart Priority Switch (and an antenna relay in the case of the SX88+ in the Lounge!) in the path and that combo works fine.

The only downside is that the F-sockets on the switch are quite close together and that makes it quite difficult to tighten up the plugs and then seal them - so I use a small 11mm open-ended spanner with the sides ground down, and then coat all the connectors with a spray-on rubberised sealant (much easier and remove than trying to fit self-amalgamating tape or rubber boots) before I slide the switch into the cover.

You might think that the sockets on the centauri are close, but I have other switches (10x1) where they are even closer
and which have been designed for thinner cable. So it is not even possible to close the plastic housing properly.

Those 10x1 switches work well as well, but you have to combine them with 4x1 switches to reach 13 or more inputs and then it
becomes a hassle, both for cabling and for reliability. So that is why I replaced 3 of them with centauris.

And indeed signal loss is not a major issue. Another factor to consider - if you have a rotor - is how much DC current
the switch can pass through. My rotor is placed after a 10x1 switch and runs fine. In principle it is better to connect
the switch after the rotor, but this was more practical for wiring and it works fine.

So the equipment is quite flexible. Also regarding the order of diseqc1.0 and diseqc1.1. No matter the order, you can always
make it work.
