anyone using miniroot7020??

hi,

been trying to flash this dreambox but with no joy...

so resorted to mini root...have gone through the guide as shown below..


Quick installation:
1) Ftp the .ipk file to the /tmp directory of your dreambox 7020
2) Run the command (telnet) "ipkg install /tmp/miniroot7020_<version>_powerpc.ipk"
Replace <version> with the actual version, of course.
3) Restart your dreambox.
4) From the boot menu, set up your network, then boot from flash to see that
the original image is still usable.
5) Reboot again, go to WEB mode in the boot menu, and use your browser to
install images.


....finally got to number 5 but when i chose web mode the screen just showed all the network settings and telling me the telnet was working ok etc, could not select anything or do anything!!

so can anyone give a better explanation about what you have to do for no.5 as i am stuck and wanna flash the first image

manage to sort it...


but only managed to flash one image, all the rest of the images stopped on loading saying unable to mount??

Seems to be totally different to 7000 box. Suppose it wont load with Flash Wizzard Pro will it.

as far as i can make out, its either dreamup or miniroot ..dreamup wont work, so trying miniroot,

What do you mean by "got no.5" ?

If you have tried to us dreamup7020 or dreamup universal and get "flash error result -5" then its a problem flashing the new image into memory.

I've just sent my box back to have the flash memory changed for this reason.

Sorry, Probably not what you want to hear

sorted miniroot now but finding only a few images work, so using this method now and works ok http://www.dreambox4u.com/howtoflash7020.phponly problem is every new image i try i loose all my motor setup and sat. positions have reload them manually each time?


is there a quick way to save them and reload after you flash a new image?
