Astra 1KR at 19.2east

I see this satellite was launched in April 2006. So into its 13th year. Cant find any launches to replace it. Certainly I think some of the transponders are less powerful than others at 19.2east from other satellites. Guess SES will move something into replace it or they have capacity not used at 19.2east.

Some fluctuation of signal readings can be caused by non compatible Lnb / Receiver,
For example with the TM5302HD & Inverto Black Ultra some strong transponders overload the receiver & show reduced or no signal with this set up:-
19.2 east Astra 1N - Sky News on 12604 H 22000
13 east HB 13B - Euronews HD on 11566 H 29900

However if I change the Lnb to another brand the signal comes back on these transponders on the 5302,
No problems with the SX-88 + / TM6902HD with the Inverto BU on these signals,

Other transponders @ 19.2 east average Signal Quality is 80 to 83 % except the widebeam on Astra 1M some transponders only 75% SQ.

There are no planned launches to replace any of the current 5 DTH Astra satellite's positioned in Europe,

If one of the satellites did fail @ 19.2 east Astra has more than enough capacity to cover it,

Astra 2E has 60 Ku +3 Ka-band transponders 29.09.2013
Astra 2F has 60 Ku +3 Ka-band transponders 28.09.2012
Astra 2G has 62 Ku +4 Ka-band transponders 27.12.2014
There are currently 80 active transponders @ 28.2 east Europe + 7 for West Africa

52 Ku-band transponders + 2 Ka-band transponders

Astra 3B @ 23.5 east launched 21.05.2010

1KR almost certainly has plenty of onboard fuel. Shes not been moved since entering service and these days most birds have plenty of reserve of fuel for extended missions past the nominal lifespan

SES obviously arent worried as thee is no sign of replacement capacity being built

MEV 2 is contracted for several years to Intelsat 10-02. MEV2 isnt going anywhere until that contract is completed.
