Franco-German cultural channel Arte will be showing the opera Carmen by Georges Bizet in 4K Ultra HD HDR on three satellites.
The broadcast will take place on Thursday, July 6, at 2055 CET and is a live performance of the opera at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence.
The broadcast will be available on two Eutelsat satellites, on Eutelsat Hot Bird at 13 degrees East on the special Hotbird4k1 channel and on Eutelsat at 5 degrees East at the Fransat Ultra HD channel.
On Astra at 19.2 degrees East, the programme will be available on the UHD1 by Astra/HD+ channel.
In addition, a digital terrestrial broadcast will take place in Paris on the TNT platform channel from the Paris Eiffel Tower on the special Test UHD1 channel.
Apart from the Carmen broadcast, Arte will also show two more performances from the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Pinocchio on July 9, and The Rake’s Progress on July 11, both on Arte Concert.
