Hi M60, Could you give a hint which of the tested frequencies were previously on Astra 2b. Could thus be relevant for fringe reception areas (e.g. Cairo) where 2b provided SSp 1-3, itv1, c4 NI etc....
Hi Rickky, I've not got the actual frequencies to hand but do have the SES TP No's of the ones from 2B, migrated to 1N and 2A after 2B was moved off that I got from Lyngsat so, obviously, not 100% gospel but here goes:

TP19
TP20
TP21
TP23
TP24
TP25
TP26
TP27
TP28
TP29
TP30
TP31
TP32
TP34

I've just added all the listed test frequencies up to this point in the forum thread (from page 25) to the existing list on my spreadsheet, will post up late this afternoon with any more additions from here on. If testing does continue next week I'll add the rest when I return from my hols.

I have been trying to get SatSpectr_1090 to work on a TBS 8922 DVBS/S2 tuner, can not seem to get any signal even at 28.2 east.
It works fine with CrazyScan.
Is there a tutorial in English anywhere, or can anyone point me to a thread or tell me what settings I need to use?

2E is still testing, this means the launch delays did not put SES in any hurry as it was previously suggested

People like to assume all sorts of things on here (I'm guilty of that too), a bit like when people where saying SES wanted 1N urgently for 19E so it would be moving when 2F was launched without knowing the full facts. All part of the fun trying to figure things out I guess but I do wish sometimes guesses where not posted as facts.

I can't see why there would be any short-cuts to the testing for any reason at all. Not doing things properly was the main reason why the Proton failed and the delays occured. Having got their bird safely up there there is now no way anyone is going to shortcut any proceedures simply to beat a Christmas embargo or some other trivial thing. This £mutltimillion object is needed to work for another 15 years or more so a few weeks of delay are really so unimportant as to be meaningless. No-one is going to be too upset now - no one is missing out - the broadcasters are delivering their programmes and when everything is ready and checked and double checked it can be moved and start its operational life. Simples!

Ok folks, here's my list, up to date of this evening.

There's a few descrepancies of a few MHz on various TP's, I've included some, but not all as it's clear some were the same frequencies centred slightly differently on people's DVB Sat Cards.

If there's any more to add by next weekend I'll add them on Monday 18th.

If I remember rightly it was posted at some point that all the TPs could be on both UK or PE beams (obviously not at the same time) . Is that correct?

It has been mentioned a few times but not sure on the source. Certainly it seems from the tests that at least some of the transponders can be switched, if not all.

Yes, it seems this satellite is more versatile than 2F.

Now we have more questions after several weeks of tests than we had before Astra 2E start testing. And if it is to add one,to which we have been witnesses and actors at the same time, would be that I don't think that all frequencies which have been collated by @M60 were on Astra.SES do tests on whole band {10700Mhz-12750Mhz}, if we take into account the carriers tested so far, but we don't know if Eutelsat will quit the band of frequencies it has now. After so many weeks of tests, we are sure of one thing, and that we are not sure of anything when Astra 2E will be operational :)

Don't forget some of the frequencies may also be for the Middle East beam so the range for Europe may be somewhat narrower than M60's list suggests.

I have noticed from a quick glance at the list is that the current bands where 2F is transmitting in doesn't appear to have been tested quite so thoroughly. Not sure if that tells us much.

But we don't exactly know what it is that we don't know!

"There are known knowns; there are things we know that we know.
There are known unknowns; that is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know."

Where is Donald Rumsfeld when you need him??

In theory - is it not possible that the same frequency could be used on lets say the middle east beam and the UK spot beam, since you wont be able to receive them both at the same time when operational?
