Astra 2F European beam reports & map October 2013

We have had a request for a new reception map for the new Astra 2F transmissions in the 12500-12750MHz band.

At the moment the thread is closed as most channels are being dual illuminated on 2 frequencies via Astras 1N, 2F UK beam or indeed even 2A as well as the 2F Euro beam!

To avoid confusion and as we are really only interested in the ones on the 2F European beam, the thread will remain closed until some of the interim frequencies are turned off and we are left with a nice clear situation with some channels.

So everyone can take part we will use a free to air channel - the channel to be used will be decided as and when the interims start going off.

I'll set the map up over the weekend & start compiling the data once we open the thread.

So everyone who wants to take part we need some basic information

Your location to the nearest town
Your dish size
what sort of reception you are getting - so expats get monitoring

(eg 24 hour no problem / breakup from xx - zz hours / no reception at all.

So my report will be

Galashiels (SE Scotland)
60cm dish
no problems

using RT on 12610V & CCTV News on 12662H which I know Im getting off the 2F European beam

Right most of the dual illumination frequencies have been turned off & its time to start getting some logs.

From the Finnish Huoltovalikko forum a user reports that a 2.4m dish in Jyväskylä, central Finland picks up 12662H and 12610V but with breakup. (No signal on 12574H and 12670V. 12515H, 12522V, 12545H and 12633H are strongest. They note that the dish hasn't been fine tuned for several years.)

12610 cnbc and 12622 cctv 1.5mtr Foxsat hdr perfect all day. both 90 % quality.

12610 cnbc 8.3 db and 12622 cctv 8.1 db 1.0 mtr on Vu duo perfect all day.

Loja nr Granada Spain. Will do more tests if required but footy on soon.

Report from my sister: Helsinki, Finland. Gibertini 1.25m offset dish, Pace 2600C1. "Technical fault" shown on both CNBC and CCTV News.

Sounds like an issue with the EPG/Box as both Channels are fully ok on all my boxes, both Generic and Freesat.

A couple are nice for comparison but I just assumed we can all get Astra 2F in the UK.

Uk signals seem weaker than the other reports so far , but maybe the name "" european beam "" has a meaning.

Just my observations whilst the footy is ongoing.
