Edision Mio 4k UHD, Fracarro Penta 85 with Inverto Black Ultra LNB. Technomate 2600 motor. Technomate 6902hd and 1m Gibertini in France.
My Location
Wiltshire UK and Bandol, France
Location: Near the coast near Bandol, Var, SE France (between Marseille and Toulon).

First phase improvements completed. Upgraded to a Gibertini 100xp and single black ultra, fed through my ageing Std Def Echostar 2200.
A DIY install by self and spouse, using the international code of measurement - to me, to you, tad more, a smidgeon, bob-on; which in our case translates as there or thereabouts. Man with meter would undoubtedly extract a few more drops. Happy to report though that all 2F channels are coming through without evening breakup. Leaves us with a glimmer of hope for when 2E lights up.

Morning 10am CET
CNBC 12610V - S66 Q82
4Seven 11126V - S55 Q64
Ch 5 10964H - S54 Q64

Evening - 8pm CET
CNBC 12610V - S66 Q81
4Seven 11126V - S48 Q58
Ch 5 10964H - S48 Q54

You've lost me. Why is it that I can pull in channels on the UK spot beam on a 1m dish in the south of France?

Do these help?

CCTV 12663H - S65 Q82
Both free from any breakup.

...and Ch 5 currently giving S46 Q50, no breakup.

These results were in clear skies - it seldom rains here :-)

Are you saying that C5 should not theoretically be possible here on a 1m dish?

What's it matter what people's theories are? The important thing is you want it and you've got it. And, BTW, we can receive it here on a 1m dish, almost 1000km further south than you are.

Just so you know, on the 50X60 oval dish using an Opticum Quad LNB, Channel 5 is showing 65%SNR on my Satplus meter here...

At the other side of the 2F UK beam fringe (Bergen, Norway) got ch5 here most of the day (typical: Level 45%, Quality 55%, but can go to zero for some hours now and then).

Back to topic (2F European beam):
12522V, 12525V, 12552V still around 50% here, and stable reception 24\24. A little larger disk (+ cut a few treetops & do a decent adjustment) and the European beam will be fine here.
