the 26MHz 2G Europe TPs are very strong... even stronger than what you get at 19.2°E...

This morning I moved my dish with my positioner one click left or right and then one click up or down (Not sure which as my dish is too far away and I don't have the cables labelled etc) but I am now getting the c5 transponder on 2g. I have had this before with 2e/2f. If you focus on 2e and get the best signal, 2g is one horizontal & vertical click away. I expect I will lose 2g this morning and will have to click back to focus on 2e later this evening. Anyway It's a good sign ! Hope may not be lost entirely !

Getting better ! Now I get c5's bbc 2 hd, cbs drama and a few others from around breakfast to early evening without any dish moving whilst still keeping all the usual channels on 2e. The evenings on 2e are still fading out for the prime time most evenings.

I know this will sound daft! But if you moved the dish one bump East during the evening would this help 2E?

Yes I was doing just that each night but last night I didn't lose 2e so I left it and have again today received the 2g c5's etc so fingers crossed the signal's are improving. For example to start off I only got c5's and cbs drama but today the bbc 2 hd channel and some others were working.

Also they are both on slightly different elevations so one click up/down also appears to get you a better signal !

Sorry, just a little confused. Pics state 28.2 and text states 23.5. If I looked at 23.5 I´d get Astra 3.
I know location makes a difference to where you actually point the dish, but I can´t get my head round this!

The LNB is offset and looking at 28.2E, the dish face is looking at 23.5E.

Thanks for that, multi LNB set up, but if the LNB is looking at 28.2 ish, isn´t that more relevant than where the dish is pointing? ( Just to help me and other new members )

Ah but the fact that the dish is not looking directly at 28.2E means it's not as efficient. The further the LNB is away from the centre the less signal it picks up. So Serafeim is just warning us his 1.25m dish will be under-performing a little.

Thank you Master Timo, Grasshopper has learnt some more

Just sat down with pen and paper. Unfortunately did not have a protractor, but if I´m correct the LNB looking at 28.2 is probably nearer 28.1, thus meaning it should pick up 2G better than 2E. If I´m wrong, send me a new protractor, mirror and a line of " talc "

It is to play with the reflected signal at the antenna, an antenna of 80cm each 6º to put a displaced LNB, estimated to be as losing 5cm diameter antenna.
So will your performance gain in dB.
------------
Es jugar con la señal reflejada en la antena, en una antena de 80cm cada 6º al poner un LNB desplazado, calcula que es como perder 5cm de diametro de antena.
Asi sera su rendimiento, ganancia en dB.

An example Astra and Hot Bird satellites are in the same position, but the antenna is focused on one or another satellite.
------------
Un ejemplo con Astra y Hot Bird, los satelites estan en la misma posicion, pero la antena esta centrada a uno o a otro satelite.

An antenna that is well documented in relation to its performance and loss of LNB's displaced is the WaveFrontier T55/T90.
