Thanks, not really sure all he told me he wanted to receive Arab Sat channels (which i've found out that they're on Badr 4/5/6 26.0E) as his wife is Moroccan.

Badr 4 should be okay on (as mentioned) a decent 100cm. Careful alignment will be required.

How many Moroccan channels are there on Hotbird and which ones? I don't slightly have a clue of which channels are Moroccan from looking at Lyngsat.

Also what size dish would that require?

Thanks

Moroccan channels in Europe

Hotbird is a powerful signal in the UK - a zone 2 minidish will be fine

I owe you one AnalogueSat saved my friend a lot of money, ended up installing a mini-dish on Hotbird and had issues at first only getting European channels but then after looking at what transponders i needed from the site you gave me (the site saved my ass )and looking at which i was getting i had the installer move it till i got the transponders i needed.

Since he has 2 dishes (28.2e and 13.0e) and wants to use them on the same box will a DiSEqC switch let him switch between the satellites without swapping the cable around. Also is there any specific configuration he needs to do, he's using a Openbox S10.

Not familiar with Openbox but any old DiSEqC switch will work.

Great to hear you got your friend up and running aamir007. Thanks for letting us know.

The disecq switch will work fine as long a the Openbox supports it - Im not familiar with that make.

Put one dish on port A, the other onto port B, then configure the tuning on the box. Might be worth putting a 4 way diseq switch up - then if the install needs adding to at some point you dont have top pull all the cabling apart again!

Thanks, i'll order a diseqc swtch then, i thought it'd work just wanted conformation before buying one.

An Openbox is a knock-off Chinese HD box that runs CCcam and NewCamd and i think MGCamd too. There horrible boxes interference wise and i hate them but their dirt cheap so lots of people buy them, they only cost £60-£100.

@fergyc do you know how to set it up? I'm trying to do it on a S10 but it won't do i've set the ports accordingly but only one satellite works at a time when i switch to a channel on 28.2e that'll work (but only a few of them which was a bit weird since they normally work)but a 13.0e channel won't work and then if change the settings a 13.0e channel will work but no a 28.2e channel will work.
