Thank you I understand and I was just wondering what king of programmes Bulgaria would rent its satellite to,since Bulgaria has a very small population to fill a whole satellite.
Hence my asking! I ll be waiting

Maybe this will answer it a bit:

...
Watch this space. I would guess there will be a lot of channels on this satellite as it is a part venture with Bulsatcom which currently use transponders on Hellas Sat 2 at 39 east

I think I'm not mistaken if I say many users,if not the majority, from this forum are not interested in TV programs, but the possibility of receiving satellites that are operational;less interested, the better. For these users, rathers dxers, every satellite launched regardless of where it is placed is a technical challenge, and if they succeed,is a reward for the passion they invested.
Exactly. Getting a signal from a fringe reception area or a new satellite is the orgasm of a satellite dxer :) Dxers rarely watch TV because they are busy aligning dishes :)

The really sad people here only look at the beaconso_O - much more interesting than programs.

The 850 MHz offset "bug" has happened quite often, from the past I remember several false Badr transponders reported by others.
It may be wrong configuration in receiver, faulty LNB, and also some twin/quad LNB have a sneaky internal L.O. frequency leakage. That's why I prefer single LNB for DX!

I suppose william-1 has already told Flysat to delete these fakes, but we all know Flysat response is a bit... unpredictable!

Can anybody tell me if and how the test carriers can be received?

If they are just carriers they will show up as a circle on Crazyscan's constellation display. In the case of the beacons (which may be carriers or low data rate xPSK), they may show as a furry circle or there may be a hint of a constellation in Crazyscan depending on signal strength. Here are examples: BulgariaSat-1 @ 1.9E and Satellites Community - Beacon(s)
Otherwise, a spectrum analyser is the only easy way:
Yes, they are signals of Telemetry/Beacons (11705,50 V and 12496,50 H)

Based on the observed test carrier, roughly this should be the frequency plan..

From SE UK on 1.5PF
Note: DRO LNB so centre frequency on plots not accurate

I'm not sure how set top boxes respond, maybe someone else can say how yours will, if it will.

The way I separated 1.9 from others was to peak the dish on the unwanted and then the wanted so I knew which was which.

I am using 10 east for this exercise:-
With a receiver like the TM5302HD & 5502HD there is a menu called Satellite Finder this shows via a graph the active transponders on a satellite,
Operating in 4 bands 10700 to 11700 H & V
--------------------------11700 to 12500 H & V

Now I can see where there are more active transponders so I will Blind Scan these area's but the receiver will only lock onto 8PSK & QPSK transponders,
Although I can see 16APSK transponders in the graph I cannot lock onto them most of these & 32APSK transponders are data streams.

Nice.
I wish someone could make something like that for Enigma receivers.
