As a comparison the proposed peak magnitude puts this comet somewhere within that of the planets Saturn and Mars.

A couple of sites are predicting this might now get to mag -1.8 based on recent data, making it almost as bright as Mars at perihelion.

A better chance of 'before sunrise' observation from the 16th onwards (totally overcast here so no chance)

Update. A3 could be seen briefly before 7am if tomorrow morning is clear (mag 1)


though there is a longer window from the 13th onwards just after sunset.

Ive seen A3 tonight about half seven. An easy catch with binoculars & once located it was easy naked eye visibility too.

Find Arcturus, then its about 2 outsretched arm fists to the left & down a bit. Pics once I extract them from the camera
