C Band on 34.5w ..... KBC-KTN-NTV channels .. on or off?

is intesat 802 at 33 degres east receiverble in sweden or its just for kenya and its surrounding countris?

One local cable TV has these channels in their broadcast. I wanted to check their dish setup, but no tall buildings around, and their dishes are inside at yard, very high fence around, can only see some edge of low-elevated huge mesh dish.

i would like to if its possible to get the c-band Intelsat 903 at 34.5°W that carriies kenya tv`s like kbc ktn and nation. if the ja pliz tell me the dish size and any other relevant info... i live in southern sweden and that is my Latitude: 57.6633° and

KTN on 3656 R 2894 3/4 (Atlantic Bird 3 @5,0°W) has much more stronger signal. With mesh 12ft now 7,8dB S/N -> you get this with >2dB S/N.

With 1,80m you get KTN on 3656 R (5,0°W) very good. It´s also possible with 1,50m, if you use an Waveguide Polarizer (see australian homepage from av.comm). I use this Waveguide Polarizer too!

If you have 1,20m dish it is not easy to get it. I would say that it´s not possible. But you can try it.

The signal for Kenyan mux on 3895 L (@Intelsat 903 @34,5°W) will need >4,50m dish...

Just to echo what dx qwer said .. he is in Germany (a bit nearer to 34.5w footprint than Sweden), so for Sweden it looks like you need a very big dish if it is possible... 6m or bigger for 34.5w and 2.4m or bigger for 5w.
Or wait for a company to transmit to N. Europe on KU.

using OP150 and Zinwell LNB (with dielectric plate) i do receive 2 transponders from 34.5 west (3714L KNR Tv Greenland and 3907L RTI Ivory coast ,and i do remember i saw last year just after summer time the nigerian channels too ,but not anymore ,funny now i get RTI with perfect reception ,but the rest belongs to the same foot print ,may be Kenians and Nigerians uses weaker trasmissions??

transmission on Transponders is very different. You can see it in my Bandscanlist

My Bandscan from today (15.15 GMT +1 CET) with KTI Orbitron mesh 12feet (366cm), Waveguide, 13°K Panorama LNB and Openbox X-810 (-> S/N in dB and quality in %):

3711 L Tele Greenland feeds -> 6dB 53%
3714 L KNR TV -> 10,6dB 100%
3879 L MCA Nigeria -> 6,1dB 57%
3894 L Kenyan mux -> 1,4-1,8dB 0-17% => I can´t watch this now - always very difficult for me!
3907 L RTI La Première -> 10,7dB 100%
4178 R Data -> 3,4dB 24%

i can beleive you are using Panorama C band LNB ,one of the worst C band i´v tryed very bad LNB ,under spanish summer the oscillator just shifted about 20MHZ ,did you try other LNBs like Zinwell or Norsat 8115 ??

3714 L KNR TV -> 10,5dB 99%
3879 L MCA Nigeria -> 6dB 52%
3894 L Kenyan mux -> 0,2-1,4dB 0%
3907 L RTI La Première -> 10,6B 100%
4178 R Data -> 3,5dB 25%

many thanx for your reports ..talking about C Band LNB performances did you try the DMS BSC 421?? last summer i did few tests between Gospel/Panorama/and DMS ,the winner was DMS ,i didnt have Zinwell then but i´m currious to find the best C Band Dual polarity LNB ,i was looking around and saw the golden interstar and Inverto..what do you think??...best regards

I also have DMS International 13°K LNB. It works realy fine.

I haven´t tested yet my Inverto Twin LNB, sorry.

now I have motorized my Mesh with Actuator for Elevation. So I can better focus the Kenian package on 3894 L 8594 5/6.

It´s possible now to get mostly stable signal (4,4dB/32% on Openbox X-810) at evening times on KBC Channel 1, NTV and KTN.

Wow! That's great. I wish I was living in that part of the globe! Anyone in Sweden who is receiving these channels? I am planning a trip there before the end of the year and would be glad to know.

I recieve KNR with 1,8 dB S/N on my Panorama 13 K LNB, and in the morning I could not get the channel, and the same around 4 pm when the sun is in the same direction.
I have just received a DMX741U C/Ku LNB, and I have set it up with the same receiver and the same dish, just another LNB and now DoctorOfSat dielectric plate instead of the AV-COMM waveguide, but wow the S/N is much better now at 3,1 dB.
