Hi friends ..
I have a new white freesat card ...one of the £20 specials ..
Obviously there isn't that much on the card that you can't get on a non sly set top box ..
The only thing I really use it for is to watch CH4 HD occasionally ...by removing it from the paired sly box ...and popping it into a cam in my IP9000.
This has worked fine for me up till last night ..
I dont keep the sly box powered up ...I just plug it in about once a month and leave the card in it overnight..
This time I might have left it a bit too long ...as when I returned it to its paired box ...and powered up .. I got this message ''Wrong card for this set top box' .
..which looks like the card has become 'un paired' .
I didn't even know this could happen ?
With the old blue card the 'entitlements' would sometimes vanish ..but you could always get them back by leaving the card in the box overnight.
The pairing certainly didn't vanish..
My question is simple ..
If I leave the card in the digibox for a day or so ...will it 're-pair' (pardon the pun) itself ?
Damned annoying if I have to leave a box on permanently ..just for this £20 card ...
certainly not very green ...if you can't turn 'em off at the mains for a while without problems.
