its up!

hey guys, spent all morning removing polar mount, and aligning and installing whatever this motor is onto the 1.2m - took forever to find 30w with a decent signal.

seems to be ok, and pretty solid, i guess time will tell - winds etc.

i didnt get on with the actuator - might have to flog it - or keep it as backup.

its been a learning curve though - the NON USALS experience.

the dish moves A LOT quicker than Diseqc motor - seems powerful. just hope it lasts

i will move the dish above garage at some point - shattered now tho.

will play some more later, only have a few positions stored.
Why don't you like it ? If it is quiet and works on the cm reflector then stick with it.

If you are not happy with the faded sticker then print another.

It does the job, it's fast and I doubt it will break down anytime soon.

The only issue I could nail down with them was an illogical dowel pin arrangement where the lower average intelligence installer forgot to remove a locking screw before pulling the dowel out by tightening an 8mm nut.

that looks same as mine.

i meant to ask actually - i've moved my dish so I can now get the extreme EAST sats again, HOWEVER, I cant drive the dish past 45e - VBOX says ERR2 - no limits have been set on the VBOX yet - so i was wondering if limits have been set on the motor - if so, how to clear them...?

clearly the degrees marked on motor above accoomdate going further than 45e and 45w - i was hoping to drive it to 53e

If you remove the black motor cover (where the cable enters) there should be some adjustable hardware limits.

I believe there are no locking screws in the limit adjusters, just a spring to engage the two set of teeth

The lower limit may also move so mark where it is on the casing before adjustment.

i see how it works now - little microswitches when hit by the notch, cuts off the movement - pulling up and turning clockwise to move the notch slightly and therefore moves the cut off point widens the movement

Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
A Jaeger SMR-99G in (maybe) unused condition:
Think I've got one of those in the garage - it came from a local "recycling" yard and attached to the TD88 that's now down the garden.

OTOH, I never used it, so I don't know if it still works but it'll be free to anyone who wants to pick it up from W.London - PM me if interested.
