What is the difference between these 2 methods to adjust declination ? (CM 1.2m polar mount)

The bottom one sets the acuteness of the arc, declination and the top one adjusts the inclination, how high the dish is pointing.

Yeah they are two different things, inclination and declination and work in tandem with each other.

Ok thanks!
At moment my inclination and skew is perfect for 4.8e (due south satellite) But when dish is moving to west on 8W for example, I need to manually adjust skew (just a little bit). Does I need to adjust the bottom one ? (In the red circle on my picture )

Some satellites have non-standard skew, which won't necessarily line up with the motorised LNB phase... annoying but true.

CM 2.4m motorised offset dish, Viking Ku-band 2-ports motorised feed, 2 SMW LNBs, RC2000A, Dreambox DM920.

The best setup would be with a motorised feed, but obviously it is complicated and expensive.

Yes, from my location I can lock all satellites from 52e to 30w with a sufficient signal (only 25.8e missing with my CM 1.2m ) just 7w and 8w need a fine skew tuning

Some time ago, I got my hands on 10 CM polar-mounts for a reasonable price. Some of them were presented to friends of mine, some were sold and shipped to members of this forum as well. But, no original CM polar-mounts are available :( . I still have one, which is slightly used, so I decided to replicate it in my favorite material.... you know :D. Of course, some brass elements should be used as well, that is manly to prevent INOX seizing (very bad thing I must add). Some parts of the original polar-mount, I change already, such as declination adjustment, elevation bolt setup, connection to vertical 76mm pipe. So, my pilot version is more or less ready. In addition to CM antennas, the polar-mount will be capable to hold Cahors 1.2m antenna. BTW, if somebody has great ideas to be incorporated in the build of the polar-mount, I am open to listen.

The new mount looks great  Azimuth fine adjustment, like some CM Rx/Tx dishes have, would solve the biggest problem (IMO) of the original polar mount. How easy it would be to implement, I don't know. These days I just rotate the pole rather than trying to turn the mount on the top of it. With the original design the mount inevitably turns when tightening the 3 bolts, your design looks like it may already improve this?

Great job @RimaNTSS :-applause

What have you did for the bearing axes (not sure of english word ) to have a smooth movement ? Teflon ring?

What have you did for the bearing
Bearings are similar to that CM polar-mount has. Bronze body with INOX insert. Perhaps a drop of oil can be added to make movement smooth. I was also thinking about teflon, will probably try it as well. IMG_20241103_114255_1.jpg

Teflon ring?
I made one out of teflon. Firstly, there is no play between the ring and the bolt. And secondly, the mount moves very smoothly, I think. But I do not know how it will behave over time. Only tests can testify the concept. IMG_20241104_094747.jpgIMG_20241104_094802.jpg

Hello folks! Somehow I have lost the horizontal bar to which the actuator is attached (yellow arrow). Can somebody, please, make a drawing of it? Especially looking for distances between the holes.

Well if you are looking for other idea's to incorporate, then maybe add some brackets to make it an "EL" version for inclined sat tracking (although not sure how important that is these days).

A good friend of mine did this with his CM 1.2m years ago.
