Some of us are already on CET. Some expats here celebrate New Year twice, one French, one British. Seems like an excuse to get bladdered twice! I may stop up for the singing shortbread tins though......

OK, please forgive me if I'm being very slow here. I've been pondering this for several days now. What *exactly* are "singing shortbread tins"?

I get the "strangled cat" reference (bagpipes presumably) but the shortbread tins reference has flummoxed me.

Seeing as Tajikistan doesnt have any European satellite broadcasts AND doesnt appear to have any iptv streams Id be interested to see how you expect to watch the new year arrive in Dushanbe????
