Looking a getting a box to receive open stuff on 28.2e, just wondered what my options are? Might even test 19.2.

Use to use a Dreambox which was fun back in the day :)

i would recommend a ZGEMMA H.2S for 28.2 with wooshbuild on it.
gives you a full EPG
i wouldnt recommend for general and more advanced use, like blind scanning etc.
u cant go wrong with an octagon SF8008

On ebay search for GTmedia V7 S2X DVB-S/S2/S2X VCM ACM multi-stream T2MI Upgrade from GTMEDIA V7SHD

Best image and picture if you want no plugins apps / advanced recordings ☺️ for 19.2 FTA

If you just want the fee stuff & arent interested in any 28E feeds or stuff like that your best option is actulally a second hand Sky HD box! (Second hand as you cant get them new nowadays. SkyQ boxes remain the property of Sky & are not supposed to appear on the second hand market)

I think I may have one in the loft, will it work on 19.2?

The problem is with a bskyb receiver you cant use it to align the dish to 19.2e. With some GTMedias( non android's )models it has a very accurate signal meter.

The same with Engima2 / Zgemmas the signal meter is rubbish.

Yes you can - Ive had satellite hooked up to the satellite input on my LG tv in the past. The gui is not not particularly intuitive but it works.

this GTmedia V7 S2X DVB-S/S2/S2X VCM ACM multi-stream T2MI Upgrade from GTMEDIA V7SHD | eBay

The GTmedia 7sX has the best video / sound quality and signal meter for FTA use. It produces far better video quality then my TM5402/Mutant51/VU Uno. ☺️

The GTmedia 7sX can also drive a darkmotor with no issues and has a very nice old school OSD and remote control.
I was very impressed with the GT8(x) video quality, installing one last month for a client. Needed a firmware upgrade though to sort the menu structure.

I really like the old fashioned menu on the GTmedia7s simpler then Enigma2 . But i find Enigma2 is still best for recordings and timers.

The GTMedia OSD menu is the same OSD as the cheap £50 sat finders.

Thank you. Just wondered which one was the best to buy, I assumed the S5X would be newer and therefore better :)
