DAB dycryption

Some of the DAB companies use proprietary chips in their receivers for decryption. Can the signlas of these DABs be received by discrete circuits? Or, are there keys and hex files for these receivers just as in the case of DTH TV receivers?

I would be glad if members can also point to extensive web materials on this issue.
