It has been a while I did not touch my solar toys. So, it is time to go ahead. I think that tomorrow all the panels will take their places on the roof. IMG_20230523_182044a.jpg

Finished all installations and connected the system to the grid. The day is cloudy but spotted maximum of 8.6kWt power coming. Now, during the summer, I need to generate as much as possible of electricity and transfer it to the grid for later use. In the dark time will take same amount of kWth back (for small fee) for my needs. Screenshot_2023-06-19-14-33-25-327_com.fox.foxapp.jpg

Can you create a small lake above where you live without disturbing too many trees / wildlife ?

As I have lots of free electricity from the sun, I have installed CH (not @Channel Hopper :D but Copper & Hunter) air-to-air heat pump. Will install the same one in the house. When it is too hot, it will work as AC, but when cold as a heater. IMG_20230813_155236.jpg

After 4 month being connected to solar, got 5000 kWh of electric energy. Half of that amount used already, but another half gave to the grid. What is given to the grid, I can take back later for small money. So, instead of paying 200 EUR monthly, I paid only 23 EUR for September. Screenshot 2023-10-16 at 17-28-29 Overview.png

could you make a simple diagram of your installation?

Exactly like on this diagram. The only difference is I have 2 separate fields of PV panels, but they both connected to the inverter. Screenshot 2023-10-18 at 11-17-25 Grid-tied & Off-grid Systems.png

Just started looking into solar and looking at that diagram, nearly asked a very stupid question, as to where the charge controller was.

No need of charge controller as there is grid-connected (tied) inverter, and no batteries are needed, so nothing to charge. Whole grid works as virtual battery.... how many kWh my solar station gives to the grid during sunny days, the same amount of kWh I take back in the evenings and winter days. Of course, when the grid is down I also nave no electricity, but that happens very seldom.

For some reason, my solar station does not generate any power anymore.

All my investment to this solar project (panels, inverter, installation) is about 6 grands. Plus, I hope to get about ~ 3 grand as a grant from the government. So, the total investment will be about 3. Those 3tons will be paid back by reduced electricity bills in less than 3 years.
