The reason the like button was not there was because the forum software does not allow self gratification, also, even though you may change the post, the original is still in the e-mail alert , although no longer visible to others. ( Which is why the rest of you think I´ve gone mad ),
But you know what I mean!

Yrah, I noticed, that I was looking at my own post and removed this sentence about button not being there 5 minutes ago.

There are 16 (14+2 spare) TBS6910 on multiswitch outputs and 8 (4+4 spare) TBS6909 cards on multiswitch's cascade (those cards have internal switches, so they need direct quattro input) for FTA channels.

BTW,
Now that we have come this far.... I'm curious how you will connect and switch these TBS6909's for four satellites?

So please keep us posted on your project! :)

Now, that's nothing special - they are intended to be stuck to their own satellites. So, you just plug them into cascade output of multiswitch and that's all.

On the second thought, now that I'm aware of existence of 0/12V switch, I could assemble an Arduino-controlled switch matrix (1+2 cascaded 0/12V-s on each receiver, plugged into 1x4 splitters on each cascade output of multiswitch) but
a) it will switch all 8 receivers from satellite to another at once, thus making it suitable only if I would choose n+1 redundancy on TBS6909 as opposed to n*2 (this will save 1456 (TBS2951+4*TBS6909) -300 (TBS6909) - 130 (TBS2923)=$1026 on cards and one receiver but will take hell of a place and I still haven't received any answer from their support on whether will TBS2923 ever support more than 4 receivers or not).
b) just imagine the size of it and I still have to fit everything else in quite a small cabinet. Anyway, there are not that much of FTA channels to receive from those satellites, so even 8 transponders per satellite is an overkill.

Well, I don't know much about these computer receiver-cards.

What puzzles me though, looking at the specs of the TBS6909, that it needs quatro input (as you wrote), and still supports diseqc 1.0 and 1.2.

Can you enlighten me how that diseqc support would be supposed to work, with quatro inputs?

They are used in different modes.
8 tuner mode (inputs should be VH/VL/HH/HL)
8 tuner mode Unicable (one connection from Unicable LNB on first port)
4 tuner mode (normal switchable inputs)

Presumably you've checked to make sure that DiSeqc is available in all three modes?

No, it's not available in 8 tuner mode, that's why I'm connecting those to cascade output of multiswitch. They won;t see other satellites, only one.

Now it makes sense again :-) .

.... thanks to this rather excellent project I found a while back..
Might I suggest building one yourself ?
It will prove what signals are generated and where they reach ..
I find mine very useful indeed..
Diseqc Decoder project ..
Of course ..you then need an accurate diseqc hex table in order to interpret the results ..
..and sadly not all receiver manufacturers bother to follow Eutelsats protocols exactly ..
Many take shortcuts ...which is where a lot of the problems and confusion can arise.
(If anyone finds a concise dieqc byte analysis lookup chart - please post it here ...it would save keep digging into Eutels lengthy pdf)

@Vipersan :
I have a question, that might possibly be answered by those owning such a diseqc-command reader.
So I thought I'd post it in this topic. I hope I'm forgiven for that ;).

In the diseqc menu of some receivers you have the options "diseqc repeat" and "sequence repeat".
I've never seen the difference explained to detail.
I've read somewhere that one of the two maybe just repeats the diseqc1.0-command, and the other repeats the whole sequence of diseqc1.0+1.1+1.2-commands. But I don't know if that is correct.

I myself have no installation to test this, with such a receiver and a sequence of switches.
Would it be possible that you could test this out with you diseqc command reader, with some multiple diseqc commands?
I would be much obliged :hatsoff2.

BTW Do you want a diseqc lookup chart for ALL diseqc commands, or e.g. just for the diseqc 1.0 or 1.1 commands? The latter I must have seen somewhere.....
