Ive had this niggling issue for a while now - when i return my dish (heavy cm1.8) from 40w or more (30w is ok) using a 36inch jack, it doesnt come back accurately back to 1w for example.

the arc is still good and true, but I have to nudge it along using the positioner box and reset the stored positon

its not a big deal, but annoying nonetheless....any idea?

nothing appears loose inc jack bearing etc. could it be the weight causing this anomaly? can anything be done to help/ease the weight loaded on the jack from extreme positions

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Cable causing a pulse mis-count ?

Otherwise it's physical, knackered bearing on the polarmount or the pole is moving.

Don't know if it has anything to do with your counts problem, but yes of course!

First the mount triangle setup (defining the actuator stroke length per degree, at the extended extreme), see your own thread,
here: Just Sharing This - My Channel Master 1.8 project.
QUOTE: Another effect (advantage) of spreading the accuracy more towards the extended side of the actuator would be, that at the extended side less motor power is needed for retracting the dish again, as the actuator can take a longer length for retracting a rotational degree.
and also: Just Sharing This - My Channel Master 1.8 project.

And second, the use of counterweights.

Try using screened cable for the pulse circuit to start with. I have never found V Boxes very good at keeping accurate counts. I dont have a problem with my RC 2000. Is it a Superjack actuator? They are not the best either ..
