Does anyone own a DELL E153FPf lcd/tft monitor ?

The resistors are very much dependent on the current requirements ..and the type of MOSFET used..
..and these need to be correct ..in order that the repair is reliable.

What, like the original design that is currently in pieces near you ?

Good point CH ...but generally this applies to all mass produced cheap stuff from the far east ..
Not always design problems ..but often the quality or purity of the silicon and various substrates used ..
A bad batch is a bad batch ..
In this case ..psu failure of the primary side psu was imo brought about by the failure of the double diode dc rectifier on the secondary side ..ie ..a greater demand for power increased load by the diode going s/c ...and the eventual demise of the entire primary..
The failure of this double diode in turn ..would most likely be due to changing electrolytic conditions within poor quality caps..etc
These too will be changed ..

Perhaps I should have said 'in order that the repair is reliable as possible'.

As A footnote ..
Poor quality elec caps are responsible for about 80% of psu failures ..the rest is usually poor quality silicon ..

Not sure if it's the same board as the 15" ? Problem is,l the screenshots of the board aren't distinct enough to read the resistor values.

Might be worth posting there for any info.

Interesting find Llew...and probably the same one I found last night ..
..it was enough to prompt me to join ..
Since then I have had a reply this morning ...by a guy called RTech...which sort of confirms what I thought already ..
15 ohms ....and 47 ohms ..
So looks like it _was_ 4 7 0
but not 470 ohms ..the 0 being a multiplier..
would have been easier to write 47R ...but thats convention for you..
