dreambox and sky cards?

IT WORKS NOW..
And guess what: it was as simple as the ol' cluttering of files from numerous installs/uninstalls of various cams, configs, keys etc. etc.

So I simply:

• erased all images from my usb stick
• started from scratch again - installing Gemini 3.10, newcamd 6.10b + it's config file
• entered the boxID in the betad.cfg
• restarted the emu
• went straight to one of the S*y Movies

AND VOILÀ: everything was working

I can say - as many other guys have said before: Sometimes it's very valid to do a thorough clean-out of your DB - and then re-install from scratch - unless of course you know which files to delete for things to work..

nice news. It's not that hard if you do go from A to Z in the right order.

Have you set up a /hdd on the box for recording? You will love what you can do to get .TS into .MPG ;)

And as I have a DM500, I often find that I cripple my /var so much that nothing can function due to limited space. Maybe I'll both my arse to put NFS onto my PC and move var.....one day

I'm not entirely sure how to setup a /hdd..?
I have a 160gb HD installed inside the DB - but have not used it at all - yet..
I thought I would wait with that topic - until S*y was working - which it is now - so now is the time to go further..
I'll try and find out how to record on that HD..

NFS on PC..hmmm..how..? And is that for recording via the DB onto your PC HD..?

i have dreambox 7020 and cc cams but my card dosent work in botom card socets anyone can explane why?

Possibly because CCcam is looking at the top slot (in the config file). Any reason why you can't use the top slot?
